Similarly, a few weeks ago, Jaiveer was working as a chief clerk in Haryana Vigilance. A link has been shared from a new number to his WhatsApp. After clicking on the link, 25,000 rupees were stolen from his bank account. He has also lodged a complaint with the police station about the incident.
All the above events occurred because users were not aware. Banks are constantly creating awareness among their users not to share such personal information with anyone .SBI is also requesting the Cyber Crime Division to appeal if such incidents occur.
How to protect yourself from such scams?
You can't often commit frauds with your credit card and debit card number alone. Do not share your name, card expiry date, cvv number, pin number with anyone. Don't even share a credit card number with anyone.
Many people engage in such activities by saying that they are speaking from the bank. But the banks themselves are making customers aware that they will not ask for any such information from the bank.
